A shootout erupted at a San Antonio apartment complex near the downtown area yesterday, leaving one man hospitalized with gunshot wounds, KENS5 reports. The incident took place just after noon on the 1100 block of San Fernando Street, close to Colorado Street, where two men allegedly exchanged gunfire inside one of an apartments.
San Antonio police discovered a man in his 20s suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his lower body upon their arrival. He was quickly transported to a local hospital; his condition was described as serious but stable. Inside the apartment at the time of the shooting were two individuals, including a child, unharmed during the incident. The suspect, however, fled the scene before authorities could make an arrest, and no weapons were left behind.
Witnesses have so far opted for silence over cooperation, which adds a complex layer to the police investigation. The investigation persists, with authorities piecing together the scant evidence available. The exact spark that ignited this violent exchange remains obscured, as the particulars of the altercation have not yet surfaced publicly.
